Anyone else having an issue setting the 3d mode on the TV while watching 3d movies via Kodi installation on the Nvidia Shield?

When I play a 3d movie via Kodi on the Shield, I am able to select the correct 3d playback mode in Kodi, but then I cant access the 3d settings on the TV... I get: "Feature not available with current signal" TV is a Sony KD-65X9005A.

When I watch the same movie on the same tv from the Kodi installation on my workstation, I am able to access the 3 settings on the TV without a problem.

Any suggestions welcome...

if youre playing a 3d.iso files, sad to say shield tv doesn't support this. But if its SBS then it should work fine.
If anyone is watching 1080i MPEG2 content on the Shield, could you please try something for me? If you pause playback, and then skip ahead 30s or so while it is still paused, does the paused (video) image update to indicate the new position, or does it show the original paused image until you resume playback no matter how much you skip around? I ask because this is my preferred method to play back recorded tv and skip over certain "sections". Thanks.
Does anyone use a shield TV with live TV?

I'm interested in how good it is at deinterlacing. The fire TV was never particularly good - will the shield TV be exactly the same with Bob and Bob inverted only?
Does anyone actually like the Shield TV?

All I'm seeing is a lot of posts about the frame rates, but as a whole, is it a good device to have?

I've got a 4K TV (using the speakers from the TV as our Audio), but would this be wasted on me? I've currently got a Pi 2 running on it but on the potential lookout for a more rounded device to use.

It would be nice to see some positive posts about it if possible.

Thanks for the information... is there an easy way to convert the .mpg files to SBS?
Any reviews on the new 1.4 update?
It's a very minor update... no visible difference from 1.3. But, 2.0 I'm hoping with at least bring hd audio and 23.976.

4k is working great for me with kodi and the nvidia shield. First I didn't have the resolution / frame rate switching but this was because it wasn't connected to my HDMI MHL port. Since then it works flawless and switches from 4k@60hz to 1080@24hz on the fly.

The HDMI MHL (For me HDMI3) port is the only one that supported the HDCP 2.2 and made all features work.

I have a Samsung UE48H7500 a european 2014 model.

Only issue that I still have is the one with the context menu because of the less number of buttons on the remote

Interesting....... I have a Samsung JS8500 that has four HDMI 2.0 HDCP 2.2 ports only and kodi always handshakes to 4k@60hz until I put a 1080p HDMI splitter in the path (to force 1080p since the Samsung had better scaling).

Questions:-

1. Are you using the out of the box Kodi from Google play?
- Which version of Kodi are you running? Using the V1.4 firmware on the shield (I've stayed with V1.3 for now)
2. Any special settings you had to change on Kodi/Shield/Samsung TV?

Pretty much all my content is 1080p so forcing the 1080p mode is fine for now; but it would be nice if picture viewing etc would use the 4k output etc. Meaning I would very much like to get this auto switching working at my end as well!
I have a Shield TV. As it doesn't have a digital output I use a Musical Fidelity V-Link to connect audio to my Musical Fidelity Home Theatre Processor. This works fine for the native pre-installed apps (YouTube etc.) but I get not audio using Kodi. Is there a setting I've missed? Does Kodi support audio through the USB? Sorry if these are stupid questions, or If I've posted in the wrong thread. Bit of a newbie.
I see reports on the Nvidia forums of Kodi issues (gamma, flickering) after updating to Shield version 1.4. Has anyone here experienced this? I dont want to update if that is really the case....
Seems no different than before to me.
Ok great thanks!
I am having problems with kodi on my nvidia shield.

When I try to play a remux file (+20gb of file size) the movie starts to stutter after 3-4 seconds. It doesnt matter what movie it is, it just stutters a lot with big movie files. When i play the files
on the pc they work fine. They even work perfect via the mediaplayer which is on my tv.

I cannot believe that a device like this has problems to play large remux files. My nvidia shield is the 16gb version and it only has kodi and vlc and a few other small apps. I have 11gb free.
The network is gbit and is working fine.

Anyone here that can help me as I would like to use kodi , but at the moment this is impossible.
