edit:

if you're wondering why i keep directing you to github -
user based support is basically non-existent on the forum for this addon
the developer has not posted here since the end of 2021 - https://forum.kodi.tv/search.php?action=...uid=330302

so if you actually want help, it will be on github

is there a way to make these visable? have i set something up wrong maybe? just seems odd
Ever since I switched from Kodi Matrix to Nexus a few weeks ago and upgraded the YouTube plugin to 7.0.1 vertically oriented videos don't display properly. On one device they always have to be manually set to rotate 90° else they are stretched horizontally. Leaving it set to "From metadata" doesn't work. On another device rotating 90° doesn't fix it, I also have to mess with the pixel ratio to get the aspect ratio right. Normal widescreen videos play fine on both devices. There are more and more vertical shorts posted to YouTube lately and constantly having to manually correct the aspect ratio gets tedious fast.

This wasn't a problem when I was on Kodi Matrix with an earlier version of the YouTube plugin. Is there a new setting I'm missing?

I checked the anxdpanic github issues page but I don't see anyone reporting anything about this.

NEVER MIND... I found an issue report from March 3rd about this but nobody has been assigned to fix it yet.
Can anyone explain to me how to use "Saved Playlists" from the top level menu? When I search YouTube with the addon and select "Playlists" from the results I get a list of playlists matching the search query, and I expected to be able to save the entire playlist using the context menu from there, but my only choices are "Play All", "Subscribe to <channel name>", and "Add to favourites". I thought that maybe if I saved the playlist using the YouTube web page it would appear in the "Saved Playlists" list, but even though I can see the saved playlist on the left-side-menu on the YT web page it doesn't appear in the YT addon.

What am I missing?

Unfortunately this functionality has not been available for some time due to changes in the Youtube API.
Does anyone have "My Channel" working in Matrix or Nexus? This is driving me crazy.

Thanks,

Hi,
before creating a new issue on the github tracker I would like to ask whether there is a known problem with 4K videos.
I am using kodi 19.5 (I know it is old, but I can not update the version atm) with plugin.video.youtube version 6.8.26~alpha5 and 4K videos work just fine.
Today I tried updating to 7.0.2.2.matrix.1 (including all updates from https://github.com/MoojMidge/plugin.vide...its/master ) without any changes to the addon config. All videos I tested showed as 720p, restoring the old version (kept a backup of Kodi's datadir) brings back their 4K playback immediately. For testing I used this video_id: VU1YDBkRU38
Hello, Does anyone know if it is possible to add a Youtube playlist to a Kodi Playlist in the Kodi Playlist editor?

I would like to add several Youtube playlists to a single kodiplaylist so that it will interleave and randomize.

Thanks in advance.

Solved what Huh?? Maybe you’d like to share that with us.
Good morning,

Received the update this morning for the add-on.
Could it be that for some reason the watched status of (most) the videos was reset since version 7.0.2.2?

I had a problem with the Login process and Youtube API,
And I succeeded to solve it by myself.
Why when I select maximum resolution in "DASH" for 4K,
On the resolution dialog selection it remove the 1080 option?
There is 720p and then the 4K.
The 1080p is shown only when I set it as the maximum resolution in DASH.
Can anyone verify if selecting "Play with subtitles" then select a subtitle to play is causing a YouTube error?

I am currently using v7.0.2.2 for Kodi v20+ (Nexus).
