You need to update the YT addon.

I'm already using 7.0.2.2, just installed
I think the problem was that I had to sign it twice, and it was tricky. After a windows it asks me to add a code within google.com/device, the window will stay stucked. I ended up just closing the window a couple of times. Seems to be working now,
Simce last update to 7.0.2.2 I confirm the same. I can't play any video with subtitles - writes YouTube error
EDIT: fixed it by re-installing the addon and putting the old status database back after renaming it.

this solution works until next update:
github.com
On 7.0.2.2 I can't get stream archives to play at anything above 720p.
I tried switching between MPEG-DASH & the various other new options added in the stream quality settings menu but nothing will work.
It's fine when I go back to 7.0.2.alpha7 but then the auto translated subtitles don't work as I think that was a new addition in 7.0.2.2 (And subs play with the fix linked to above).
Hi,
Is Kodi v18.9 no longer supported?
Receiving the following error with v6.8.25: The following content is not available on this app
Is there a fix available?
Hi, thanks for this nice plugin. Mostly things have been going a-ok, but I ran into an issue where autoplay has ceased to function out of the blue. Autoplay recommended videos is enabled, but after finishing a searched video, you return to the search results.
Everything else is working properly though.
Logfile provides this error message when autoplay is supposed to happen:

Using version 7.0.2.2 on Kodi 20.1 (Debian). Any ideas?

For Kodi 17 Krypton & 18 Leia:
I added the the updated YouTube add-on version (6.8.26~alpha7 at the time of writing) to my repository (axbmcuser REPO) for easy updating on Kodi 17 and 18.
(Source credits and thanks to JimmyS83 on GitHub)
You can visit this
thread for repo download details or you can just use the
direct repo download link in my signature.
From yesterday all live streams play only audio.
This invalid ID issue seems to be an ongoing thing.
I'm a 40+ years IT veteran and I can't fathom how to get it going.
First of all when attempting to sign in a message states that two applications will be required.
Two WHAT!!! Applications!!! Which applications? (Wana give me a clue! My application list is pretty long!) Where are these two applications and where should they be run? On the Kodi device? Somewhere else?
So I enter the code into google.com/device and immediately I get the invalid ID error (on the Kodi youtube sign in). Ok so I wait a while for the second application (or maybe window) to appear... Nothing. Maybe I'm supposed to do it twice!!!
Maybe application means an "application of" and not an" application/program".
So I do it again and get the same thing. So that can't be the second application. Not sure what this second application is.
Anyway after researching for several hours and coming across this issue many times I still have no idea how to trigger this mystery second application.
I come to this thread and I'm suppose to read 138+ pages of contradictory and confusing posts to figure this out.
I'm using Kodi in CoreElec 20.2 stable on an Odroid N2+.
Any clues welcome!!!

I am trying to setup the Youtube app but it keeps telling me I need my own API key and I am having a hard time figure out where to go from here. Can someone point me in the right direction.
thanks
P.S. The addon tells me to go to: https:UTADDON.page.link/kyes On this page there is a link to a video to watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4iFaY8IpTeI But that is a dead link with a message from YT saying it was taken down. So I am at a total loss. I now have an API key from google. I have attempted to get it to work in this add in for over an hour and nothing. I just keep getting the message that I need a key and when I go back into setting the key I just entered is gone. Someone please help.
YT has "problems" with KODI, the step by step text tutorial is in
https://github.com/anxdpanic/plugin.vide...l-API-Keys
to devs:
apparently github lets you upload videos now
So DFergFLA advises the video to watch at:
https://github.com/anxdpanic/plugin.vide...l-API-Keys
which contains:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4iFaY8IpTeI
is a dead link and evanTaur replies go back to the same page with the same dead link.
Does the dead link become undead and subsequent attempts. Probably not.
The instructions for this addon for creating the keys are particularly useless without the video.
So what next.
