not the CPU but other stuff...
Code:
[pi3]
# arm_freq=1300
core_freq=500
gpu_freq=500
over_voltage=2
dtparam=sd_overclock=83
sdram_freq=580
over_voltage_sdram=5
sdram_schmoo=0x02000020

@J_E_F_F can you disable overclock and report back if things are better?
There has been some rework of the logic that may not be handing overclock as well - I'd like to confirm if that is true.
@Milhouse it does play through manually skipping around without crashing (until hitting stop) when all overclock stuff is commented out.

Any specific parts you'd like me to enable to see what specifically causes the issue?

Yes, can you start by removing:
sdram_freq=580
over_voltage_sdram=5

If that still crashes (apart from the expected crash on stop) then also remove:
core_freq=500
gpu_freq=500
Still froze with the sdram stuff commented out, not as almost immediate as before, but after skipping around a few times.

My pi gets no ip with build 0307, tried several restarts. Build 0306 works ok.
I'm also overclocked.

my config.txt http://ix.io/U7B

crashlog http://ix.io/U7O
I did have to reboot 2x manually (3 overall) with 0307 after the initial update for mine to grab an IP too. Don't know if it was a wifi problem or what, but it was not on the network.
It has been getting on the network fine with probably 10+ reboots, after the initial connection.

I can't see how the firmware update would affect ethernet. Can you download:

https://github.com/raspberrypi/firmware/...f?raw=true
https://github.com/raspberrypi/firmware/...t?raw=true

and replace start.elf/fixup.dat on sdcard with them? Does it help?
@J_E_F_F can you also try that after testing with core_freq/gpu_freq overclock disabled?
I tried the individual overclocks, it appears gpu_freq=500 is the one causing the crash for me.

no kodi_crash.log is created, the gui locks, sometime with decent video, other times with just a bunch of vertical lines or a black screen.
 ssh still works, but oddly enough, a reboot command does not always reboot it, requiring a power reset, other times it reboots on command.

There is nothing in #0307 that fixes the end of playback crash. @J_E_F_F can you post your config.txt, are you overclocked?
 No ,I continue to crash when I stop the video, but not every time, there is no change , no overclocked

To confirm, you believe this config setting is good:
Code:
[pi3]
# arm_freq=1300
core_freq=500
#gpu_freq=500
over_voltage=2
dtparam=sd_overclock=83
sdram_freq=580
over_voltage_sdram=5
sdram_schmoo=0x02000020

And if you uncomment the gpu_freq line it crashes? I'll see if I can reproduce.
I take that back, I just had a crash (after a while) with gpu_freq=500 commented out too.

I replaced start.elf and fixup.dat with _x files but no improvement.
So no firmware issue?

 Okay - so with everything in config.txt commented out you still have crashes?
If so, then can you try the previous night's firmware.

Sorry - I think I was linking to latest firmware - I've just updated links to previous night's firmware - can you try again?

EDIT: To check update is as expect run "vcgencmd version" and check the date reported is "March 5"
