Strange. I never used a Shield or Shield Pro, so I can only guess. Can you check file permissions on the cookies file?
Where would I find the cookies file?

I’ve just found the cookies file, i don’t have a way to check file permissions on the shield, but the cookie is getting modified every time I open kodi.

I cannot play radio stations.

Somebody seems to think that you are not in the UK. The interesting part of the log is this:

2021-01-23 14:03:53.318 T:2391789776 ERROR: OpenDemuxStream - Error creating demuxer

The 403 error does not originate in the a.files.bbci.co.uk call, but in the as-hls-uk-live.akamized.net call. Internally, the add-on opens the first (bbbci), parses the actual stream inside and attempts to open it. That is the URL on the Akamai CDN. The first appears not to be geoblocked, the latter is.
Thanks for the reply.

Somebody is right, I am not in the UK. But I can play radio1 via browser or via BBC app.

So this is strange and I don't understand why this is blocked. Do you have any idea how could I resolve this. Except for using some type of proxy ?

Btw this is playing fine even if I am not in the UK.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/live:bbc_radio_one

So maybe we should use different URL in the iPlayer ?
I have a very similar problem. Using my Android box, I try BBC iPlayer, and get a good picture and good sound, and no problems during the program and the same with other UK channels.
However, whilst within Kodi, I try iPlayer.www live and get “BBC iPlayer TV programs are available to play in the UK only.” I then check the Log and get a strange ‘Error: Control 504 in window 10025 has been asked to focus, but it can’t.’
Then I try the ‘BBC Most Popular’ button, within BBC iPlayer, and get a very good picture and good sound. Strange? Live ‘No’catch-up ‘Yes’
I am using a VPN. But why this strange problem, as about a month or so, all was working well.
Lastly there is a problem with UK ITV, which gets an error of ‘HLS is too old and needs updating.’ Within the log.
Any updates available?
Many thanks.

I’ve just tried copying and pasting the cookie file from a kodi fork I have that appears to be ok, no errors pop up. The replacement cookie gets rewritten and the error still pops up. I don’t know what else to try
A simple reminder of our VPN policy (wiki), specifically "The use of VPNs to overcome geo-locking and other location restrictions put in place by legal and legitimate media providers is not supported by the Team". This conversation could easily wander into that area, so I'm merely mentioning it now.

If the file gets updated every time, it is working. No idea why you get an error message.

Thanks for that info. Good to hear that you do not worry about security whilst on internet. Great.
Kodi doesn't need a VPN to operate, and if it's being used either for circumventing geolocking or trying to hide your trail whilst using banned addons (wiki) or suchlike, then we offer no support.

For general security usage, if you're using a paid-for (or free) 3rd party service, then you're paying them for support, so if their service breaks Kodi then it's down to them to restore any broken connections. And if you're using homebrew, then you should be savvy enough to fix things too, if required with the community assistance of whatever service you're using.

Note that VPNs aren't banned here, we just don't support them and their usage as defined in the VPN Policy (wiki) already mentioned.

We now return you back to your regularly scheduled thread and addon...
I'm having problems with (apparently) geo blocking. "BBC iPlayer programmes are available to play in the UK only." I am in the UK, not using a VPN, can access the channel (BBC2) fine through a browser, and this only affects BBC2, not BBC1 or BBC4. It had worked fine until yesterday, for months.

Can you check if a different CDN works for you, please? Try disabling Autoplay in settings and select streams manually. If one CDN works, but another does not feel free to report back here.

None of the streams work.
