Solution for built in proxy? I live in the U.S. and would love access without having to change my DNS or VPN servers.

There is currently no plan to support a built in proxy.

Beta 5 is no longer available. What's more: The channels you mentioned do work well for me.

Can you please provide some more information? Are these channels missing from the list? Do they simply not play? Do you get an error message?
(2015-09-28, 06:38)primaeval Wrote: [ -> ]Here is an example: "CBeebies Prom from the Royal Albert Hall". The bitrates available for me are: 1012, 1800, 3116 and 5510. If I set 1500 in the catchup bitrate settings I get Playback Failed. rc2 is the same.

Thanks, this was exactly the kind of information I needed. This is a bug and it is fixed in rc3.

This one also proves that I am still new to Python.

Hmmm... I really can't find any way of influencing that dialog. As far as I understand it just shows up if it takes some time to load the stream. For me, it sometimes does show up, sometimes it doesn't, it all depends on how long it takes to start streaming.

(2015-09-28, 06:38)primaeval Wrote: [ -> ]The only other thing I noticed is that if I change the settings in the addon I have to exit and restart it for the settings to change.

That's also odd. If I change settings, they take effect immediately. Which version of Kodi are you using?
I can confirm the catchup bitrate is working properly now in rc3. Great.

The "Opening Stream" doesn't show up all the time now. I think you are right about it being a timeout.

I am using Kodi 15.1 on win7 for testing.
If I toggle "Start playback automatically..." in the settings I have to back up a directory before it takes effect.

Thanks for the confirmation.

That again is normal. The setting whether or not to use automatic playback already needs to be set when the directory is created. If you change the setting, you need to create it again by going back up one directory. The reason is quite simple: The add-on needs to choose whether an entry is another directory or a playable item during the creation of the directory list.
Have you looked into how tricky it would be to add a download option?
(2015-09-26, 19:14)CaptainT Wrote: [ -> ]Edit: "IIRC, 1280x720 25fps is/was provided via RTMP only." is not correct. 1280x720p 25fps might also be made available without using RTMP, but only for catchup content. Please let me know if this would help.

1280x720p 25fps would be good for my connection and hardware. 50fps is pushing it for me. Lots of buffering slowdowns.

Sorry to say, but that's not going to happen.

I have added more sources for rc4. The 1280x820 25fps should be the 2400kbps option. Please note that this might not always be available.

Hmmm... Got no idea, what's wrong in that case. I can just stress out again that it works fine here.
In case somebody notices that the Highlights section does not work any longer: The Beeb have changed their website design. rc4 already adapts to that and brings Highlights back.

Let's hope they don't start changing everything else as well.

That is much more stable for me. Thanks.

Hey got it sorted ...problem was stream settings all on auto/any stream...all working now by selecting stream choice manually
