djh_ Wrote:Someone requested I upload all the PSD files for Alaska. I'm not sure how much use they'll be, especially as they contain a lot of stuff that just wasn't very good. But it's probably better you have them than me. It's about 450mb in total so I'll leave them uploading to Mediafire overnight.
There's some stuff like this in there:
I'd strongly recommend discretion when using this stuff. A lot of it's just me mucking about and would be either impossible in XBMC or not particularly beneficial. Anyway, it's up to you.
Thanks, this will give us something to work with.
If you've the time I would like to know what view types you intended using for each category and how you wanted the settings/weather to look? Basically I want this to be close to your vision as possible so even a rough sketch of the layout would be hugely appreciated.
EDIT: We've got a setting layout like this at the moment -
Hitcher, many thanks for all your work at this moment!
hey Hitcher,
here is a better way to do the Global_NowPlaying then using a include by using the
MusicOverlay.xml
download the code from
http://pastebin.com/d732cbefb
and add it to
MusicOverlay.xml then just delete all the
Global_NowPlaying includes...

Hey CF2009, Why don't you ask Hitcher to have access to git? So you can work together?

You can pull changes from another branch on git, it makes collaborative code easy. There's not really any need for others to have access to the same repo, you just merge the changes.

okay, i will setup one, too. Won´t be able to invest a lot of time in the next 2 weeks though.
Please feel free to contribute - I'll need all the help I can get.
I have some problems with the latest SVN versions of XBMC. Can anyone tell me if Alaska works with 9.04 or do I really need to have a later version of SVN installed for this?
I am really loving that landscape TV show view djh just posted!
Has anyone seen this:

Although originally meant to be an Aeon port, it looks like there are some Alaska-inspired concepts going on as well. Maybe some inspiration for how to finish this for XBMC?

Thanks for the link.
WoW, there's some really nice looking stuff in that meedios skin!
I definitely think that Hitcher could be inspired by some of it, although it has to fit in with what djh_ intended with Alaska in the first place, as mentioned in post #1.
This might be an incredibly dumb question, but does this work on a standard xbox?
Aeon was such a tease and after reading about Alaska's incredibly small size I have been hoping the limitations of xbox hardware won't be a problem to run this skin.

Is there a way we can have both the option of a landscape style poster AND the traditional vertical poster for TV shows? Doesn't XBMC only use the file "folder.jpg" for this image, or is there some other way of doing it?
Thanks
