(2023-01-10, 01:19)HugoL Wrote: [ -> ]My dudes! the tmdb helper integration with the categories, ratings, info dialogue etc. and also the highlights widget is so fookin’ awesome man.

I’m going to squeeze a cheeky little UK ratings logo in the MPAA part of the highlight widget for even more awesomeness.

One thing I don’t like is the absence of the plot slide on the spotlight. I’m going to put that back on my own build along with a shrinking clearlogo I think.

I’m also not keen on the main font colour being that bright/white for some reason but I think you’ve had that for a while but no worries, I’ll put that back to my liking.

So far, everything I’ve noticed is spot on, looking forward to playing with it some more but I also noticed the settings menu footer rating options is done really well too. I’ve had tmdb helper integration for a long while now but only ever use RT audience, RT critics and IMDB so it was nice to quickly access and switch on what I needed. I think the next thing to do is to clean up the rest of the skin options. So much is unnecessary there now, it needs a more simplified, less bloat option menu.

Anyway, it’s so good! Keep up the good work.
Hey Hugo. I'm glad you like it.
I am currently in the phase of fixing some of the shortcomings reported by users, but also adding some of the suggestions we received. For example, including uk mpaa ratings for the highlight widget is not a bad idea.
Some things have already been completed (It will be in the next update), including an option that will restore the hiding of the plot after some time of system idle but also some others like opening an info dialog instead of directly playing the movie in dialog info and extendedinfo. I haven't actually finished this yet, it's in the testing phase as it's a bit tricky.
The settings are pretty much sorted, maybe some things may need to be tweaked a little more, but mostly every function should work.
All in all, there will still be a little bit of tweaking, but a lot has been done during the last year. Enjoy the skin. Wink
There's a few setting options I think seem redundant and I don't think it helps that pretty much every small new feature that gets implemented, another setting is added to disable it just to appease some folk.  No biggie, just makes it a little harder to navigate the options. Most of it is my issue trying to remember what all the options actually do! Some stuff like the white critics ratings and text ratings I implemented ages ago I feel aren't necessary and just create more work with any updates made to the footers for example.

I love the cast icon on the additional details section by the way, top notch! A couple of years ago I was working on this section to make it appear more organic see here.  There's quite a bit of code involved for the genres part for example and works really well.  Let me know if you want any of it.  At the very least, it's well worth emulating the RT Critics Consensus part, swapping out the tagline you currently have because the consensus usually give you a really nice short overview instead and feels really organic.

Also, there's room for plot and ratings in the new highlight widget which I feel is something that is lacking for a home widget.
A similar thing has already been done for additional details but you can send me the code, there is always something new to see. Smile

Lol I actually took pictures of all my settings in the previous build on my phone so I wouldn't have to try to learn what everything does all over again. There are a lot of settings but small price to pay to have a somewhat customizable Netflix skin to specific users liking in my opinion.

I implemented a fair few of those options myself and probably still couldn't tell you what they all do!

There are really a lot of options, but that's why people love this skin, there's something for everyone.
Many options have been removed, but many have been added. Tmdb helper gave me a lot of possibilities for that.
What is important to me is that every function works. Maybe they just need to be tidied up a bit.
How do I enable the big widgets with the e numbers 1-10 etc on bingie

I'm pretty sure that's just a request from another user a pretty cool one but I don't think that is an option at the moment.

A couple years ago I did the developer hack with YouTube got an api, secret code and such. Any help with the tubed error would be appreciated can I just delete it? or any idea what I can do to fix the error?
You only need youtube.
I tried deleting tubed and when I tried to play a trailer I got a pop up message saying tubed is required to perform this action would you like to add it now. I then redownloaded it and disabled the addon and tried a trailer and nothing happened at all. any advice?

I've never used Tube. The skin in the code has nothing to do with Tube. I really don't have an answer to your question. Maybe somewhere in Kodi it is set as the default video player. I have no idea.
@cscott1

When selecting a trailer it's instructing Kodi to play video from plugin://plugin.video.youtube as it is set in your database when scraped.

This is the default behavior so if you do not have an addon to handle plugin://plugin.video.youtube installed it will fail.

Thanks I have the youtube addon with the api I dont understand why its not using that.
I'm not sure the "correct" way but if you look in your database file (MyVideosXXX.db) under the "movie_view", column c19 shows what you have set for a trailer.

This is what Kodi will attempt to play.

Try clearing the Kodi Cache after uninstalling Tubed.

I found the file you are talking about but I don't have a program to open it correctly do I have to decompile Kodi or something? I'm not that advanced if I were to delete that file would it rebuild off of my current addons or just F stuff up beyond repair?
