Bug:
TVShows -> TVShow Fanart for unwatched items isn't working anymore. It just shows the default video PNG. Watched items show the episodepreview thumb.

That again is a BigNoid addition and I don't think either of us care if you use it

EDIT: Please give credit to BigNoid somewhere in the skin i.e. a credit, contributor, or wherever you deem appropriate.
If there is any other code you would like to use then as long as you have given credit to BigNoid or myself then feel free to use whatever you want. I, personally, do not care about credit so if you default to using BigNoid then that is A-OK with me

It is definitely a memory issue. A lot of folks use this skin with many different OS's and hardware so I just don't know why it works in other skins but crashes in mine. I cannot see a skin issue anywhere.

What I do see is this before you run out of memory:
Perhaps there is some issue with either Library Data Provider, Skin Widgets, or the library database itself but I really have no idea

The only thing that I probably do differently is using the new Music Information folder and fadelabels to display fanart1, fanart2, ect...

When you have debug logging on what is happening with the memory allocation and where does it "start" to max out? On load of MyMusicNav (music section of Kodi) or just after scrolling for a bit? What view is this happening with? Every view or just one? Does disabling extrafanart fix the issue?

What happens if you delete every addon in your Kodi addons folder besides skin.aeon.nox.silvo? Same issue?

@DaveBlake @rmrector do you guys have any idea what is happening here?

Sounds like a cache issue. You may need to change it manually using the choose artwork button in the Video Info screen or using a utility like Texture Cache Maintenance Utility or Artwork Beef.

Well my skin has never had a 5.9.4 version number but OG Aeon Nox 5 has and this bit version="6000.0.3" name="Aeon Nox 5: Question Mark looks like a stupid build that is not supported cause I would have no idea what was altered in the skin.

That PR has over a thousand lines of code changes so will not be merged cause it is too difficult to check all of them. I will edit the demo client to show a 61-69 minute "episode" and try to see where the variable is "messing up".

I just tested hiding episode thumbs and it is working exactly as expected in all episode views using v18.1 final. Where do you see it not working?

EDIT 3: If you say it is a problem with your damn Vitameatavegamin then we gonna have to throwdown...

I agree. What is interesting is when the first memory related errors occur, not when it finally gets too much and lack of memory causes the crash. That happens on thread 3832, so let's extract that
CBaseTexture sees Thumbnails/7/7b89ffbe.jpg as having width x height > 16MB, and there isn't that much free memory to allocate.
@dkoh can you take a look at smb://MACHINE01/E/#Artist Info/'Til Tuesday/fanart.jpg, what are the image properties? Remove or replace it? Do other skins show this image without problem?

I don't think it is database related, nothing in log and db activity is common to all skins. The Library Data Provider does cause more db activity (and whatever it is being used for I wish skinners would come talk to me because I'm sure it is an inefficient way to do things that could be done in core if I knew it was wanted) but again not the issue. Skin Widgets will be triggering art loading, so I could be why the art is requested.

Try that @dkoh , and also try waiting some minutes before going to the music section, allow all the background tasks to complete. Does it happen if you don't list artists?

Aaaargh, I have to finally learn github commands *doh* Please have a look only at the changes in Variables.xml, that fixes Remaining time. The other changes shouldn't be in this PR.

It seems that "String.IsEqual(ListItem.Icon,OverlaySpoiler.png)" is never "true".
Here are the corresponding Kodi-PRs:

The last one is IMHO the important one. It changes ListItenm.Icon corewise.
The fix for your skin is to change

xml:
String.IsEqual(ListItem.Overlay,OverlayUnwatched.png) + String.IsEqual(ListItem.Icon,OverlaySpoiler.png)

with

xml:
String.IsEqual(ListItem.Plot,$LOCALIZE[20370])

in "NoSpoilerIconVar" (Variables.xml).
This is tested on latest Kodi 18.2 RC, Milhouse build from 0304

I am so very sorry but I cannot answer this part . I only know what I know, ya know . All of my assumptions come from what I have learned along the way...

I currently use Library Data Provider cause when it was introduced Kodi did not provide the $INFOlabels for the Home Screen items without it. Music and/or video items but the music database info has been greatly improved due to your amazing additions/improvements @DaveBlake and my preference would be to only use what Kodi core provides. ATM I am not 100% sure how to achieve that without losing any of the currently expected functionality...

I hope @dkoh can provide a new debug log with some of the many "variables" removed.

If you have any suggestions or recommendations I will gladly follow any advice you may have to minimize my current reliance on any and all scripts/addons

My ultimate goal (time permitting OFC) is to have as close as I can to zero required addons just like Estuary

I follow the Kodi (xbmc) GitHub as well as I can. Just like I know that when this PR gets implemented I will have to revert my current implementation to accommodate. I will if and when it gets merged but until then my current way works just fine in my testing. I have no idea why you think following the plot localization is a better approach...?

OverlayUnwatched.png and OverlaySpoiler.png should, to the best of my knowledge, be "hardcoded" in Kodi...

Not digging at you personally Mike or any one else, and really your thread is a silly place for me to make such a comment. It is just when I see row at a time queiries and know that is the slow way to get data. I glance at the log and think "what is it doing and why?". I also understand that people created some addons etc. because getting core changes was impossible. No blame anywhere, and it is not as if I'm short of work.

I don't really know how core could help in what areas, I don't even have time (or inclination I'll admit) to try different skins let alone dig into to find how they do what they do. But I'm an approachable guy

Knowing what there isn't an info label for under what situation would be a place to start, but bugs and new things take priority over polishing things that already deliver what you want. So just ignore the groaning data guy

But I wish you well with your ultimate goal, let me know if I can help with music data stuff.

How do you control Kodi? Mouse, keyboard or remote? The Keyboard lets you use + and - to lower and raise the volume. 

At last, I managed to have volume control with the Shield TV Remote in Music OSD with the help of the Keymap Editor add-on.

Is there a simple way to shorten the rotation time between fanart images (specifically in BigFan view, but others as well I suppose). The SiLVO Extras menu lets you set it down to 5 seconds, but I'd like the images to cycle faster (probably 2 seconds). I've poked around in the XMLs for an hour trying to figure out how to add more options to the Set Background Rotation Speed dropdown, or how to hard code the delay, but with my very limited understanding of skinning have come up empty. I thought I had it with the FanartTimePerimage setting but that seems to control the fanart on the home menu, not in the views.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Edit line 727 FanartTimePerImage5 and line 761 FadelabelPauseAtEnd5

Set the skin settings to use the 5 second choice and it will actually rotate the fanart at whatever time your edited those two lines.  I set to 2000 ms because I prefer it to rotate faster also.  Remember to edit after a skin upgrade.

Is it possible to remove the second transparent black bar at the top on the homescreen? I just want to have the first bar at the top with temperatur, date and time.

Hi mikeSiLVO.

Using the MyFlix view, the focused title is all the way to the left.  Can we have an option to focus the centered title or do you know of an edit to accomplish this?  Thanks for your consideration.
